Visual & Performing Arts courses at John Adams Academy are based on California State Standards for 6th-8th grade and standards for High School Proficient/Advanced.

Learning activities are designed to focus in the fundamental elements of each arts discipline, familiarize scholars with the historical/cultural context in which art is created, provide tools for evaluating art (self, peer, professional artists) and make connections with other arts disciplines, subject areas and career opportunities.

In support of our school's Core Values, scholars also develop valuable skills in: critical thinking, self-discipline, social interaction, aesthetic appreciation and creative expression.
