Constitution Challenge Coins
High School Visual Art 1 classes designed and created over 300 challenge coins that they distributed to all upper-grade scholars during Constitution Day assembly. Each coin has the number, symbol and wording for one of the 10 Amendments to the Constitution in the Bill of Rights. Challenge Coins were patterned after the special coins awarded to members of military forces, fire departments, etc. such as the Green Berets, who initiated the practice. Scholars who received the coins could respond positively when challenged to state a right protected by an Amendment to the Constitution.
