Field Trip to Art Foundry/Gallery
Individual pieces of fringe are formed separately then attached.
High School Art scholars visited the gallery and foundry of an outstanding artist, Douglas Van Howd. The gallery exhibits a wonderful variety of Mr. Howd's very life-like sculptures and paintings of animals and landscapes.
Scholars were fascinated by the extraordinary details in the works of art and enjoyed learning about the lost-wax process for making bronze sculptures.
